Why Buy a Rope Hammock?

When someone says the word “hammock”, nine out of ten times the image that comes to mind is one of the traditional rope hammock with spreader bars. Spreader bars keep the hammock bed spread open making it easy to lie in. Traditional rope hammocks are hung between two supports (trees, posts, or on a hammock stand). Traditional Rope hammocks are generally made of cotton or polyester rope. Being a natural fiber, cotton is slightly softer than the polyester rope. However, the cotton rope will absorb moisture from the air making it more susceptible to mold and mildew. Polyester rope is generally more durable and is less susceptible to mold and mildew growth. The newest rope hammock material is called DuraCord. DuraCord combines the soft feel of cotton with a durability that exceeds that of polyester. It is a colorfast and fade resistant material with UV resistance that exceeds industry standards for outdoor products. DuraCord does not absorb water, making it quick drying and much less likely to mold or mildew.
