How to Place an Order

The House of Hammocks website has been thoroughly organized according to specific categories. The tabs at the top of every page indicate the top level product categories. Select the one that describes the item you are looking for to get a more detailed listing of the products available. For example, clicking on the “Hammocks” tab will open a page that lists the many different kinds of hammocks we carry (Rope Hammocks, Fabric Hammocks, etc.). Once you have found a product you are interested in, simply click the “Add to Cart” link for that item to view a detailed description of the item including its dimensions, construction, available options, and quality ratings.

Adding Items to Your Shopping Cart

Once you have located an item you are interested in purchasing, you need to select any available options and click on the “Add to Cart” button. Clicking this button will add the item to your virtual shopping cart and display the complete contents of your cart. At this time, you may continue shopping, adjust the quantities of items in your cart, or elect to checkout. You can access the contents of your Shopping Cart at any time by clicking the “View Cart” icon at the top of every page on our site.

Ready to Checkout

If you think you are ready to check out, take a moment to review what is currently in your cart. Make sure that you have selected the appropriate color and fabric options and that the correct quantities are listed. If everything is in order, you are ready to Proceed to the Checkout Page. There are two methods of checkout available to you - “Checkout” and “Secure Checkout”. We do not suggest using the “Checkout” option since this is an unsecure method of submitting your information. Additionally, paying by credit card is not possible using this method. Click on the “Secure Checkout” button to view the Secure Encrypted Checkout Page.

At this point you are taken to the first page of the checkout process. This page is ENCRYPTED using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology and a trusted SSL web server digital certificate is used to secure and authenticate our web site. Our SSL web server digital certificate is issued by Thawte Certification, a globally recognized provider of digital certificate products, services and solutions that create security, privacy and authentication in electronic commerce.

On this page you are asked to fill out a form to provide us with your name, billing/shipping addresses, and desired shipping method. Once this form has been completed and you click on “Submit”, you will continue on to the “Verification and Payment” page.

Verification and Payment

The “Verification and Payment” page is also ENCRYPTED using the same trusted SSL web server digital certificate from GeoTrust.

At this time you will be asked to verify the information you entered on the previous page and to provide your preferred method of payment. Currently, there are three choices to choose from: 1) Pay By Credit Card, 2) Phone in Payment Information, or 3) Mail in a Check or Money Order. If you choose options 2 or 3, simply follow the instructions provided to submit your payment. If you choose option 1, you will need to enter your credit card information in the spaces provided.

When all of your information has been entered, click on the “Submit the Order” button. At this time, our web server will initiate an ENCRYPTED connection with the Authorize.Net credit card verification service to either approve or deny your transaction.

If your transaction is approved, an e-mail receipt is generated by our web server and sent to us and to the e-mail address you provided.

NO CREDIT CARD INFORMATION IS INCLUDED IN EITHER OF THESE MESSAGES.

In fact, we have no way to view your payment information when you order on-line. Our Shopping Cart software does NOT log the Credit Card Number, and the Authorize.Net credit verification service does not permit us to view your complete credit card number. In this way, no one in our organization has the ability to view credit card numbers for any customer that places an order on-line.

Accepted Payment Methods

House of Hammocks accepts several methods of payment. No matter what method you choose, we guarantee that every transaction you make will be secure. All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and payment must be made in US dollars.

Credit Cards

House of Hammocks currently accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards. You can safely enter your entire credit card number via our secure online shopping cart. Our system simply provides an authorization for your card. It does NOT log, store, record, or transmit your card number in any manner accessible to us. At no time will we have access to your Credit Card information when you place an order online.

Checks and Money Orders

House of Hammocks currently accepts Personal Checks, Cashiers Checks, and Money Orders as methods of payment, Please keep in mind that when you pay with a personal check, your order will be delayed for up to two weeks while we wait for the check to clear. Cashiers Checks and Money Orders are processed immediately.

How to Cancel or Change Your Order

If you would like to cancel or change your order, it is imperative that you contact us as soon as possible. Orders may only be cancelled if the items have NOT been shipped to you. An order is not considered cancelled until you receive an e-mail or phone call from us confirming your cancellation (if the order ships before this confirmation is received the customer is still responsible for any original shipping and return shipping costs). Once an item has been shipped, it may be returned for a refund (less any shipping charges) or exchanged for another product provided it is returned in its original condition. The customer is responsible for ALL shipping charges (original shipping and return shipping) on returned and/or exchanged items provided the return/exchange is not the result of an error on our part.

Price Matching Policy

At House of Hammocks, we feel we provide the highest quality products at the best prices available. However, we do know that on occasion, our competitors will offer lower prices. If you do happen to find one of our products offered at a lower price, we will be happy to match that price under the following conditions:

1. The two products being compared must be the exact same products. That means they must be from the same manufacturer and have the same part number. Proof must be provided that the products being compared are the exact same product (i.e. web page or catalog page with manufacturer name and part number clearly identified).

2. The price being matched is only the price of the product itself and does not include any shipping or sales tax charges that may be incurred.

3. Proof must be provided that a competitor has a lower price. The easiest way to prove a lower price is to tell us the web site where the price was found and we will check. If you have a catalog with a lower price, you will need to fax the appropriate page to us so we can compare the prices.

Product Warranty

All products offered on the House of Hammocks web site come with the standard 90 day manufacturer warranty against defects in workmanship and quality. If during this time, you have any problems with your order, please give us a call and we will help resolve the situation. We realize though that in some cases, 90 days is not enough. We want you to be completely satisfied with your experience ordering from us. For that reason, if at any time during the first year you are in possession of your new hammock and you have a problem, give us a call and we will do our best to make sure you are satisfied. This warranty does not cover damage from mildew, normal wear and tear, neglect, abuse, acts of nature, misuse, improper installation, improper cleaning, improper storage or prolonged exposure to inclement weather.

If you think your product may be eligible for a warranty refund, please give us a call at 1-877-431-0494 and we will tell you how to proceed. Once we receive the returned item back from you, we will issue a refund for the full amount (including any shipping charges) if we determine that the product was defective due to workmanship or quality.

Return and Exchange Policy

Our ultimate goal is to provide you, the customer, with a completely rewarding shopping experience when dealing with House of Hammocks. To that end, we are willing to accept a return and/or exchange on any product we sell for any reason within 10 days (5 days for dog house and pet related products) after receipt of the item. There is one condition though, the item(s) being returned must be in their original condition and not show any signs of use.

If you wish to return or exchange an item, you must contact us to receive a Return Authorization Number before shipping the item back. The following conditions apply to all returns, exchanges and refunds.

1. Products must be in their original new condition.

2. The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs on items being returned or exchanged. Refunds and/or exchanges will be provided once the item has been received in its original condition. The refunded amount will be what you paid for the item being returned only. We do not refund any original shipping costs the customer may have paid. For items with “Free Shipping”, you will be refunded the purchase price minus the shipping expenses paid by House of Hammocks.com to ship the product to you.

3. All returns and exchanges require a Return Authorization (RA) number to be issued. Contact us to receive an RA number prior to returning any items. Items without RA numbers will not be accepted for return.

4. We cannot give refunds for items lost or damaged during the return shipping. Please send your items back via insured and traceable shipping methods.

5. Dog Houses typically cannot be returned once they have been unpackaged and assembled. Since we cannot guarantee that the house you choose for your dog will be the right size or that your dog will want to use the house, we suggest that you choose carefully when purchasing one of the dog houses.

6. Due to the high shipping costs associated with the XL, Giant and Godzilla Dog Houses and the Medium and Large Dog Kennels, they are not returnable. Additionally, any dog houses that are prepped for the PetCool AC/Heater or receive custom work are not returnable. Please ensure you are following all of our sizing guidelines when selecting one of these houses for your pet.

7. There is a 15% restocking fee for all Dog House orders. This fee is applied for all Dog House orders returned or canceled after the house has shipped - even if you have not received it yet. This 15% fee does not include the freight charges. Freight charges will be subtracted from your refund separately.

If you wish to return or exchange your product, simply contact us. We will do our best to answer your questions and resolve the situation as fast as possible.

NOTE: Any items ordered through affiliate programs must be returned/exchanged using the procedures outlined on the affiliates web site. House of Hammocks is not responsible for any damaged or unwanted products ordered through one of our affiliates.

Recommended Return Shipping Methods

As mentioned above, we cannot be held responsible for items that are lost or damaged during the return shipping process. We recommend that you use an insurable and traceable method of shipping your order back to us. The best options are UPS and FedEx Ground.

How to Package Your Return Shipment

Use the following guidelines when preparing your item for return shipment.

1. Pack the item to be returned securely in the original carton if it is available. If the original carton is not available, please be sure to use a sturdy cardboard box that adequately protects the items.

2. Inside the box, please include a sheet of paper with the RA Number, your name, your order number and the reason for the return.

3. On the outside of the box, write the RA number in large black letters near the shipping label.

4. Please use either UPS or FedEx Ground for return shipments.

How to Get a Refund for Your Return

In order to ensure that you will get a refund for your return you need to make sure you follow these instructions. The most important part of the return policy is that the item being returned MUST be in its original new condition. If the item being returned appears to be used, you will not receive a refund. This includes dirt, mildew, torn fabric or rope, chipped or damaged wood, and discolorations.
